I have not tried a hard reset. I might try that soon. I looked at my alarm program and it has an option to chime every hour but I dont have it set. I have tried several programs out over the past week so it may be that one of them had such a setting and it didn't get deleted. I don't recall setting it to blink on the hour in any program though.
