I have a 680 and have never had any real difficulties with email. I didn't care
for Versmail, and found Chatter to handle my pop3 needs nicely. There have been
several threads indicating Snapper and Chatter handle IMAP nicely; I don't have
a use for it so couldn't comment.
I use TakePhone, Datebook6, and Blazer from RAM, and a host of other apps
from the SD. Only thing giving me problems is - I'm pretty certain - Google
Maps. Since I installed it, I've had a problem with the 680 losing its prefs
following the daily full backup with Resco. I restore that backup and
everything's hunky dorey.
In the interest of full disclosure, I've installed a custom ROM, but
email-wise, it has had no effect.
