Yes, it could be a problem with the Treo. My Treo 650 was working fine, then one day the other party couldn't hear you. Turns out there was a problem with the Treo, and hopefully, it is now fixed. Unfortunately, it was out of warranty.

In that case, have you contacted customer service for your cellular plan? If the problem persisted across multiple devices, the problem is almost certainly service related and not device related.
