Bill, just to be sure, I'd like to ask you and everyone else to send me test messages (with any text content and attachments) so that I may really confirm that I receive them all 'nice and dandy'. I didn't do anything special' just Googled for the configuration and inputted it. Anyway, if all is nice, I'll screenshot my configuration screens and blog about it (in english as well) so that you may reproduce the configuration.
A wild guess: which language is your GMail account configured to use for the menus "and such"?
