Then just forget about using a Windows emulator. Your needs are identical to
mine. I use JPilot to occasionally sync, just to get records on my desktop
for viewing. I rely on SD card backup apps for truly reliable backups. JPilot
is a native Linux app and does what you want. It syncs, backs up, and
installs files.
