I did a lot of research on integrated GPS products last year and concluded, based on reading opinions of a lot of people who'd had them, that a dedicated GPS is a better choice. Not only do you not have to worry about your Treo being tied up as a GPS when you need it for other purposes, the bigger screen and louder speaker (among other things) make for a better overall usage experience.
Having had a Garmin 307 now for over a year, I can honestly say that I think it was the right thing to do. What's nifty is that the Garmin has Bluetooth, so it can pair with my Treo and use entries from my addressbook and act as a hands-free speakerphone if I want it to. Very slick.
