Mike, To each his own, but I've never had any issues with "memory leaks" so I'm not sure what you are seeing. Basically, I've had a lot of things running and stopped caring what was running because it never seemed to matter - I never got an out of memory error or a reset. As for making my life easier, my 700w is just as straightforward for my needs as any of my previous PalmOS Treos, and more reliable to boot. When you say that if Palm goes away, do you mean the PalmOS? Palm the company will probably morph into a mainly hardware company and/or get bought by a bigger fish if they can't get enough interest or can't actually create their new PalmOS. But just them or PalmOS being out of it I don't think means much for the industry because you have three pretty big platforms competing already (WM, BB, and iPhone) with another big one (Android) waiting in the wings. So with four big choices and a selection of smaller players as well, is Palm or PalmOS really THAT important? I also don't buy your idea that somehow going with a non-Palm platform equates with forcing users to "deal with design limitations." I think that's totally in the eye of the beholder. You are very used to the PalmOS and your prefer it over the others, but there are millions of people who prefer other platforms over Palm...

Not at this point. WM 5 and 6 are pretty mature. They are still faulted for their not particularly intuitive UI, although I've gotten used to it. Just a matter of remapping your brain a bit! ;-) But as far as stability, I think my Treo 700w has reset itself maybe twice since I bought it back last September.
