I don't believe the iPhone 3G will have A2DP. I looked all over the specs for
this and didn't see it mentioned anywhere. I would think if it did, they would
be advertizing it, let alone be in their specs! It's pretty ridiculous if you
as me because the iPhone is supposed to be a phote+iPod, but then again even
the iPod itself still doesn't have it, which is also kind of shocking now that
A2DP has been out for years, and bluetooth on phones is pretty ubiquitous. I
wonder if A2DP is just a technology with to many practical hurdles that make
its implementation impractical - battery issues, reception issues, etc. My
current iPod adapter and Motorola headset do a fair job, but they are really
finicky about where I place things. If I don't keep my iPod in the right spot,
I lose reception pretty regularly, and this becomes so annoying that at the
moment I don't even use A2DP to listen to my iPod...

Speaking of the iPhone2 I was at the Apple store the other day and asked one of
the sales reps whether it wil support A2DP. He didn't know but hadn't heard
that it did so he doubted it, though most of the people who've seen the beta
for the software think it'll be there. I guess we'll see next week.
