Interesting! I wonder, though, why it's not actually being implemented yet. I'm not interested in an iPhone at the moment for a variety of reasons, but my wife has a Touch and I might get one if they release a 64GB version in the Fall, so I'm hoping that the A2DP also gets implemented for the Touch - at least the new one...
