Since you were having problems syncing I wouldn't restore from the card. For
whatever it's worth here is how I got my PIM data from my Sony Clie to my
new Centro. This assuming you're using Windows and the Palm Desktop (not
Outlook) for syncing. I installed the Palm Desktop that came with the Centro
right over my old version of Palm Desktop for the Clie.

1. Synced the Centro as a NEW device and gave it a unique (new) user ID. Not
the same as my old Clie.
2. EXPORTED the PIM data, Contacts, Calendar and Memos from the Clie using
the Palm desktop. Name and store the files where you can find them.
3. IMPORTED the PIM data to the Centro using Palm Desktop.
4. Installed the latest version of the apps I wanted to use from scratch
rather than restoring from a backup.
5. I took my time and tested between each of the apps I installed to make
sure there were no problems.

I've had the Centro for nearly 5 months and it is rock solid and stable. The
Clie still syncs to the new Palm Desktop and is working fine as well.

Hope this helps a bit.

Elfyn

Subject: [Treo] 650 to Centro migration

My 650 has given up the ghost (in regards to syncing) and Sprint is giving
me
a new Centro as a replacement.

Like I mentioned, it has been since early June that I have been successful
syncing, so the stuff stored on the desktop is a bit out of date. I have
everything backed up to an SD card.

Looking for a data restoration strategy for the PIM apps.

Also, right now, the only apps on the handheld (rather than the card) are
Agendus, Wordsmith, Launcher X, and an old, but useful version of Smartlist
to Go. Should I try restoring these, or just installing from scratch?
