Yes - Windows is incredibly STUPID in certain areas. The long extinct 
Amiga would read the file header and work out what format it was so that 
it could play/display it. But Windows demands the right `dot suffix` or 
it cannot handle this very simple task.

Just try removing .txt from a very simple text file and ask Windows to 
do something with it . . . .   doH!!
