I actually got HotSync to work in XP Mode on Win 7 (I was shocked).
Just share the USB device, and install the drivers on the XP side.
 
RTM has already shipped and been out for a while.

Can`t say for certain but mosr reviews say that "7" is what "Vista" 
SHOULD have been - minus a lot of the bloat, plus most required drivers.

Some here may already be playing with the Release Candidate?
