I was in the same predicament as you. I decided to go with Evernote. It's awesome. Took a little effort, but not horrendous. Much easier to do for memos than adding tasks from Outlook (which I also did).
Are you using Outlook? If so, if you have the plugin installed for Outlook (if not, then do so), then you can simply add each memo as a separate note in Evernote. (Actually, if I recall correctly, you should be able to add more than one at a time, with each showing up as a separate note.) Work them in by category, and then tag each one with the desired category name/tag within Evernote. When done with one category, do the same with the next. Once you have it all in Evernote, you'll find it so much better than the simple memo and task function in Outlook and on your PalmOS device. At work now, the first program that I open up is Evernote, then Outlook. I only use Outlook for email, calendar and contacts now...the last two of which are sync'd to Google via Companionlink. As you may surmise, I've been prepping for my Pre transition for a while (and using my iTouch as my cloud-sync test mule). I am anticipating that my initial setup tomorrow ought to go quickly and painlessly. I sure hope so after all my prep work! :-) Good luck! Jim ..... Original Message .......
