I can see how something like you suggest will work with Evernote, but the big problem initially is how to import the 1092 notes I currently have without getting them all mixed up. I need to keep the categories separated. Perhaps if I manually add a prefix representing the category to each note before importing them to the Pre? That would be very tedious.

Evernote does it nicely, albeit by a different name. Evernote uses "tags" - the only problem is likely to be having to "recatagorize" them after importing them to EN. Once that is done, though, it works really nicely. And you can have multiple tags/categories on each memo. Then, when you view EN online, you can click a tag in the column at left and only, but all, those notes with that tag will be shown. Trouble is, I just noticed, I can't see how to view by categories in the Pre. Maybe someone can show me I'm missing something. On the other hand, with the list of notes loaded. you can start typing a word and notes will appear that either have that word as a category name or in the note. Which reminds me of a work-around from my Palm days when categories were limited to 15 and I needed more. I came up with a keyword-code to simulate additional categories. E.G. wicpa meant wineries in central Pennsylvania. Since EN allows you to define your own categories ... On 01/24/2010 10:36:46 PM -0500 "George Kontos" <[email protected]> wrote: > This is awful.
