First impressions:

..No stupid button - looks sleeker without the stupid button. Can you tell
I don't like the stupid button?

..Slider is much more solid - makes the whole thing feel more solid; no more
Oreo Cookie

..Keyboard is clickier - good, in that it's more sure; bad, in that others
can hear you texting!

So far, it's quite as good as, or perhaps a little better than Sprint at
hanging onto a signal, in stark contrast to the Verizon Storm I tried last
year, which was not. Either Verizon has improved coverage, or the Pre has a
better cellular radio than the Storm, or both.

Price comparison:

Sprint, Simply Everything - everything Sprint for $100/month. So simple,
even a caveman can understand it.

Verizon - unlimited talk and text, $80/month, data $30/month, Verizon Nav
$10/month - total $130/month for unlimited everything. Cavemen have trouble
understanding this. And no, you can't just use Google Maps - Verizon
disables GPS unless you pay them the $10/month for VZ Nav.

Mobile hotspot is $40/month, which is ridiculous. They should have a
limited version for people who, like me, use it a couple of times per year.
No way I'm paying $40/month for that!

So, not sure if the benefits outweigh the costs. Also didn't figure in the
termination charges with Sprint in the above.

More later.

Cheers,

Don
