It's true that the experiences we report on this forum are not necessarily representative of the general population, because we are a special subset of users. Things that we might complain about and label as "defects" might go unnoticed by the casual user. The problem I had with the "R" key on my 2nd unit is an example of this. Even the Verizon tech who helped me could not replicate my problem, probably because he presses the keys a lot harder than I do and the "R" always worked for him. Fortunately, he took the "customer is always right approach" and humored me and replaced my phone anyway. It's nice to have access to the full alphabet again. :-)
Hopefully my unlucky first 24 hrs will turn out to be a fluke because I'd like Palm to be successful in this new WebOS venture, especially now that the iPhone will become even more readily available on more carriers in the near future.
