Google and yahoo would be configured on imap only on pre. If shows you pop then 
you can remove and resetup the account. Mine did that.

Yes, my local provider gives me the option to configure my email as POP3 or

IMAP. I've stuck with POP3.   But I guess the Pre+ is forcing me to use the

account as an IMAP account anyway.

Your provider may offer that option and the server is telling your Pre

that it should behave as an IMAP client.



No idea beyond that, as I only sync Gmail and Exchange to my Pre.
