Agree. I hope they don't get used to WebOS the way it is, though, and
neglect to add back in all the things it doesn't have that the Treo/Centro
had - quick text and emoticons in the SMS app, categories (or tags), more
configurable sounds and alerts, calendar entry text wrapping on the main
calendar screen and editable in place, etc. etc.. Yes, we can get along
without them, but we'd be better off with them.

Outlook 2010 still has deficiencies that were present in Outlook 97, largely
because everyone is used to them, including the developers. It would still
be better if they were addressed, and I keep hoping.

Keep going Palm - no ossification of features in WebOS, ever! Video and
Flash will be great, but don't lose sight of configurability and all the
nice little touches in PalmOS, BlackberryOS, etc.!

Cheers,

Don

I've come to realize that Palm took the "small and stable" approach to
webOS apps; they didn't risk lots of bugs because they didn't include
many features at the outset.

That said, if Palm's history of frequent updates continues (as I
expect it will), we'll most likely see improvements to core apps in
the near future. Of course, there's nothing stopping a 3rd-party dev
from creating a kick-ass webOS email app. Oh, Snappermail, where are
you now??
