I've often wondered why such a process wouldn't work to get a pop account to work as IMAP. Just never got around to looking for how to do it.
As for ideas 1 thru 3, done 'em. Even to the point of a Full Erase, which caused another problem, but it's still not downloading that work POP -- even tho the server tech said he can see me authenticating into the system and accessing the mailbox.
