Verizon says that Palm says that you should NOT remove the battery to "reboot" the Pre Plus. (I assume this applies to the Pre as well.) I was instructed to always use the proper menu options to "RESTART" or "SHUT DOWN / SWAP BATTERY" available by holding down the Power button for a few seconds. Once the device is shut down, then you can remove and reinsert/swap the battery.
