Yeah, until you call them up for an issue and they say, "Ok, first let's pull 
the battery" and you go "no, no, I was told to never pull the battery." Then 
they snicker, and say, "yeah, it's ok for me to tell you to pull it."

Verizon says that Palm says that you should NOT remove the battery to
"reboot" the Pre Plus.  (I assume this applies to the Pre as well.)  I was
instructed to always use the proper menu options to "RESTART" or "SHUT DOWN
/ SWAP BATTERY" available by holding down the Power button for a few
seconds.  Once the device is shut down, then you can remove and
reinsert/swap the battery.

The other thing that I have found occasionally is that physically 
removing the battery will `restore` things.
