I'm 52 - I think it is more personality- than age-related, too. When I was
younger, I enjoyed cutting edge more than now, but the developments came
more slowly then, too. I still enjoy reading and learning about new things
but when it comes to work and organization, stick with what works for me.
Not averse to upgrading if it will solve a specific problem or noticeably
improve efficiency and speed, but no longer upgrade just for the sake of
upgrading.

I joined Twitter and Facebook when they were new, just so I would know what
they were all about, but seldom log on to them now. One thing I do enjoy
using from time to time is Tweetdeck, a free download that enables you to
watch Twitter updates from your own account and set up keyword searches as
well and see the updates as they occur. Most of the "people" I follow on
Twitter are news organizations, so it is like having a constant news feed
running - particularly entertaining on days that seem like an endless stream
of phone calls punctuated by long stretches on "hold".
