I suppose it's possible, but how long are CPU's supposed to last? 5 years?
10 years? You think it could make that just 2? Even so, I doubt I will
still have this phone when it turns 2, but that harkens back to other
discussions. I've been selling my 1-1.5-year-old phones (occasionally even
.5-year-old ones!) for the past several years in order to get something
newer/better. Strange since it seems my PC exchange rate has gotten a lot
slower. I used to be upgrading parts within 1.5 years, and then building or
buying a whole new one at maybe 2.5. The PC before my current one was I
think 3.5 years old when I traded up, and my current one is almost that age
and yet I have no plans to upgrade any times soon. Maybe in 2011.
Especially strange now that you can get a decent desktop OR laptop for under
$1K these days, maybe even under $500! Not to mention how much monitors
have come down. My 24" from Dell purchased almost 3.5 years ago was around
$700! Now you can get something like this for under $300 and something
signicantly bigger for not much more than that. Luckily we have old
desktops at work running XP so I don't know how bad off I am! ;-) I think
we are supposed to get new machines any week now, so that might change
things a little...
