I don't know how B&N knew to download PDB format - maybe that is their default format? I did not tell them anything special. I am using Palm Pre. I went to B&N and downloaded a sample (on many books they allow you to read a sample of the book - in hopes you will like the story and buy the book).
I have not tried Amazon yet. For me price is as important as variety of books. When they sell me an ebook they have no other costs (other than electronic hardware, of course). There is no printing, no distribution, no stocking of shelves, no cashier, etc. For these reasons I expect (demand?) a lower price. So far I am seeing prices going up - at least in part because of the Apple agreement that took many books off the ereader web site. When you went through the purchase process, did it prompt you for PC, Mac etc? What did you select...PC? Or does it give you the option of .pdb? Is there DRM e.g.need to enter passcode or cc # and name when opening the book via preader? > > Thanks. > > > > Jim [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
