Would Google groups be better? Maybe we could create a group there, and send a 
notice to everyone to join? Also perhaps put an autoresponder for stragglers?

Has anyone tried Google groups?

That's nothing.  I've had Yahoo messages take as long as two or even

three _days_ to turnaround onto the list.  Their Email list systems

are really F'ed up sometimes.
