I wouldn't go so far as "crap"... I have had one for 8 months and it has been fine. I'd say it is as good as my Centro was.
IMHO, it is the total package. WebOS is awesome...the UI is great and user-friendly for novices....multitasking...Touchstone..Synergy....lots of geat stuff that makes the hardware secondary (for me). Look at the iPhone..."great" hardware (although the antenna snafu blemishes such)...yet I wouldn't trade my Pre for one...due to all of the aforementioned niceties with the Pre.
