The way I see it right now, the big choice is between the Android device of the week (yes, they are released that often!) and the iPhone. If I were willing to return to a CDMA carrier (VZW - never Sprint), I would grab the Droid X in a heartbeat. I'm on AT&T and happier with my iPhone than I ever thought possible.
