How good/old/dusty are the CD/DVD drives? I've had problems with the generic drives reading media consistently especially if they had been in service and accumulate a little dust/debris in the works.

Have you checked to see if there are any BIOS updates available? It's possible that older BIOSes don't like the methods that certain CDs are using to boot. -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
