Ubuntu puts it in multiverse, probably for patent reasons. It doesn't seem to  
be non-free itself, nor is it in the libreplanet software blacklist.

Grabbing the deb straight off of the ubuntu repo works fine. It's at  
http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/k9copy
