It is a shame that Dirac was never considered for video but I haven't come  
across anyone use it or mention it outside of technical documents. The  
problem is that it is still considered a work in progress and the current  
video quality is below that of H264.

So I'm guessing a video file in MKV format with Dirac for video and Vorbis  
for audio is one of the more free software friendly ways to enjoy video? That  
is if someone made it popular.
