There are a lot of issues caused by non-free software. Not every issue is  
going to be fixed by going free although many many many issues are. We (@  
ThinkPenguin) don't ship free software just for ethical reasons even if thats  
the primary reason. There are support costs to consider as well from the  
business perspective. It's one of the reasons we're succeeding where others  
have seen only mediocre success (comparatively).
