Do you have the system at hand? It would be most useful if you could post its information (or even update h-node.org). I recently got an X230 and went through the same process to learn about the DRM implemented by Lenovo on their systems. The Thinkwiki page referenced at the LibrePlanet page mentioned in this thread has extensive information on that: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_unauthorized_MiniPCI_network_card If you search through that page, it seems it may be possible to remove the whitelisting restriction by hacking your BIOS (other methods are listed on that page too). Your model isn't specifically mentioned, though. In order to make a request for a modified BIOS, you may read this: http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-VERY-IMPORTANT-Bios-whitelist-removal-requests It also seems the T61 model mentioned by someone else is on that list. Every thinkpad model has a page at Thinkwiki.org. If you scroll down yours, you will see other issues/tips for your specific model.
