Also, I think you'd be surprised. I paid 70 pounds (about $110 dollars) for a
single weight of a proprietary typeface before I knew about free software.
That was probably the silliest thing I've ever purchased (although I did make
good use of it, and it was a really nice font).
After I lost most of my files due to a mishap installing Trisquel for the
first time, I lost that typeface too. Miraculously I had a copy of it on a
flash drive that I had lost about a year earlier, and I was able to recover
it. I still have it on my computer today — it just sits there, not
installed, because I don't want to use proprietary software, but I don't want
to delete something that cost me that much.
