I'm considering asking if I could get a reduced price if for a
period
of ten years I had all the freedoms of free software, but if I gave
it
to anyone else they would not have those freedoms. Would this be
acceptable for a libre license?
For it to be free everybody has to be able to copy, modify and
distribute the derivatives under the same terms. What you're talking
of is akin to the proprietary software under what I think of as
'source club' licenses. The code is non-free although you have
access to the source and can distribute patches because everybody has
to go to one exculsive company to get a copy of the software. This
used to be very common in mainframe and AIUI early Unix, the most
famous PC product that did it was Minix v1.
