I've gotten an additional response from FontShop International. It was short
and succinct: they wanted to know why I would want to spending so much money
on a font. I responded, giving more arguments for free software, describing
by goals of freeing a proprietary typeface, and finally noting, "You can't
put a price on freedom". Their letter was set in the very font I wanted to
buy from them, Erik Spiekermann's famous FF Meta — I wonder if they meant
to taunt me by that. :)
