Perhaps you are feeling we are mean zealots that do not care about people. People are the most important thing for us. We want to stop harm being made onto them. We will not help the thugs harm people even when this is see as good by the people. If a person is forced into servitude, he should do everything to get out of it. It is not wise to justify his master by saying they the master is feeding the slave. Of course, the slave must look for a way of not going into fasting if he escapes. By the same analogy, the person that works on a job that forces him to make use of non-free software does not justify his boss. The person is a forced victim and should do everything that is in his hands to free himself of that injustice. If that makes him have a lower paying job, that is a small trade-off for his liberty. If that leaves him without a job, that is not a good option. Nevertheless, few people fall into this situation. Perhaps it applies to devastated countries.
