Very good suggestion! I know of a few artists that use this new business  
model effectively, including many webcomic creators who retain the rights on  
their work, publish the content for free on the internet, and print books  
(usually with everything already published freely + bonus) as a source of  
income. I know a few music bands who basically do the same, distributing  
songs online and/or selling home made CDs at concerts very cheap, the  
concerts themselves making the money.
