Glad to see you got it working! Though one word of caution on HPLIP. I have  
had it suggest non-free firmware before. Taking for example this printer:
http://h-node.org/printers/view/en/1259/HPLaserJet-P1102w
Make sure you don't agree to any evil EULA when using HPLIP. ;)
