hmm machine check error I think might be the one related to the wifi card.
Quick search should reveal an answer for sure. I don't believe this specific
feature classifies as what would be refereed to as restricted boot.
Restricted boot is something that prevents you from easily booting other
operating systems. What this is is digital restrictions though and that's
also very bad. I'm going to guess you have a Toshiba, Dell, HP, Lenovo/IBM,
Toshiba, Sony, or Apple system. Probably not the last one as I believe Apple
uses a proprietary wifi card instead of white listing (ie USB based with
proprietary connector of some sort).
I believe that for 3d acceleration support you need both a newer kernel and
xserver. I know that at least on some of our machines with haswell the
xserver component has to be upgraded for the 3d in addition to the BIOS.
Right now Trisquel doesn't back this component backported. However there is
good news. Trisquel 7 which is based on Ubuntu 14.04 is right around the
corner. That will definitely solve the problem with the lack of 3d
acceleration support.
Ruben is going to preview Trisquel 7 at Libre Planet on the 22nd or 23rd of
this month. From the testing we've done it's still got lots of issues, but
hopefully they'll be shored up soon enough.
