Keep in mind that half of these are not actually duplicates.
The ones that really are duplicates seem to be there because Trisquel uses different programs by default than GNOME, and those that GNOME uses by default are either required or recommended by various GNOME packages. Try "aptitude why ", that'll tell you what on your system recommends or requires the given package.
