If I do work on reTux full-time, I roughly estimate that finishing the game would take about a month. I would then probably release version 1.0 of the SGE Game Engine, and start working on another game, again, full-time. (I've got a few ideas on the table for what I could do next.)
To be clear, $50,000 (= 2500 $20 contributors) is the point where I would do
things like quit my day job and suspend other active projects if necessary so
that I would be able to work on the game full-time. Even $10,000 would be
something I'd consider a success, but that wouldn't be enough for me to do
anything extreme like that.
