hmm okay then 16 bits or more would work. Although maybe virtual consoles are  
too complicated at this time to achieve or not worth it yet. I still will  
continue to look at this aspect but not for a long time will it if ever  
happen.

Although i am curious what you meant by unnecessary bloat...
