Try installing Psensor; it shows exactly what's going on inside, namely the  
temp1, Physical id 0, Core 0, and Core 1 temperatures, fan1 speed and cpu  
usage.

You should see the huffing and puffing that takes place while panorama is  
assembling a multi-image photographic montage.
