Ubuntu just makes the Trisquel project's job more difficult.
What's the difference between the Debian live CDs and Ubuntu? Ubuntu has an
installer with fewer options which is where it gets its reputation for bring
easier. I'm not sure what advantage it has over Debian.
I think using Ubuntu as base just introduces all sorts of additional
problems. My first GNU/Linux distribution was Debian. I had problems but they
were all easily solvable on the internet, and I would have had the same
problems if I had used Ubuntu or Trisquel.
