Ok, so it seems it accepts this, but it's stuck at the boot command: grub> set root='(optical drive)' grub> linux /path_to/vmlinuz root=/path_to/vmlinuz grub> initrd /path_to/initrd.img grub> boot
replace /path_to with /live, since this is where the files are on the Debian LiveCD. If there's a mistake, it's on the second line, starting from root=. Not sure what to put there.
I'll try chainloading isolinux.bin.
