My new laptop is smaller, lighter, more fast, with more battery life, etc,
etc. And I need to work/study now not tomorrow. Which can be of more
practical convenience?
What was wrong with your old laptop or hardware that you need a new machine
to study?

proprietary software?
It doesn't matter. The moment you see something non-free, you can tell them
to remove it. Libre movement is dependent on its users.
They can't spy us all, because if they do it they would risk the
bankruptcy...
Surveillance and privacy encroachments, data mining and fingerprinting is
done for profit. Assume this: they spy on everybody indiscriminately and
wholesale, corporations and governments.
