This is from my experience of using both on librebooted x200.
But I actually used devuan instead of debian more due to Luke's knowledge of systemd. apparently he says there are security issues with it and modification issues. Although if that weren't enough the developers and their supporters are super hostile to people's criticism of their precious systemd. So yeah... I will pass.
