We will not get anywhere unless we specifically ask these companies what we  
want, such as to not exploit labour, fabricate on occupied land, or sprinkle  
our hardware with proprietary firmware. These companies have more than enough  
money and resources to not behave this way. There are small companies who try  
to build hardware from scratch so we can have free software, which is a great  
idea. You would think these profitable bigger companies who have the budget  
to try different things and test new product ideas, like proprietary firmware  
free hardware, would actually do something about it. The ideas of free  
software are pretty much known in computer science clubs throughout the  
world. So I cannot understand why they no longer exist once these engineers  
join a corporation. You would think *some* of these ideas would hold. Same  
with people I know personally who abide by free software in school and then  
become Mac fanatics after. It's weird.
