I just thought of something. Hyperbola (like Parabola) has a process for migrating from other pacman-based distros without reinstalling. They have pages for migrating from Arch and Parabola
https://wiki.hyperbola.info/doku.php?id=en:migration:from_parabola https://wiki.hyperbola.info/doku.php?id=en:migration:from_arch That in itself doesn't help you, as Arch and Parabola aren't any easier to install than Hyperbola. However, you may be able to install and migrate from Manjaro. Manjaro is a fork of Arch with an emphasis on user-friendliness. It has the same freedom issues as Arch, so I do not recommend its use, but installing it and immediately migrating to a libre pacman-based distro (Hyperbola or Parobola) might be easier than installing Hyperbola or Parabola directly. The only difference between the instructions for migrating to Hyperbola from Parabola and those for migrating from Arch is this step: https://wiki.hyperbola.info/doku.php?id=en:migration:from_parabola#remove_parabola_repositories "Remove every lines about nonprism, libre, pcr in /etc/pacman.conf since we have our libre packages inside core, extra, community and multilib repos." It seems that this extra step is necessary because Parabola names their repositories differently from Arch, while Hyperbola uses the same names. Assuming that Manjaro uses the same names as well, it is likely that the Arch instructions will be sufficient to migrate from Manjaro to Hyperbola. Again, I am not recommending Manjaro for use as a distro, only as an intermediate step to Hyperbola (or Parabola).
