KABC libraries will be still present in distros, because it is 
core API or KDE. So plugin will work.

Access to KDE addressbook can be done via KABC or via Akonadi 
API. So for KDE we need KABC or Akonadi plugin. I will write also 
Akonadi one... Maybe one day Akonadi will be bug free and plugin 
for Trojita will be already ready :-)
